Women in Leadership

The IEA has committed to advancing diversification through institutional change. Their strategy focuses on three main pillars: 1) Building an evidence base, 2) Amplifying women’s voices in the field, and 3) Creating synergies across organizations and professional bodies to drive norm-shifting conversations and practices in economics.

IEA’s data collection efforts are ongoing and aim to build a comprehensive database of women in economics. This includes evidence papers in Argentina, Colombia, Ghana, India, Mexico, Senegal, and South Africa, which explore the barriers and opportunities influencing women’s choices to study economics, pursue advanced degrees, and enter academic economics.
