Addressing Context-Specific Barriers to Female Labor Force Participation
The PEP initiative conducts a gender-sensitive policy analysis of labor markets in six countries: Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Senegal, Kenya, Brazil, and Peru. Local researchers, government representatives, and stakeholders from labor unions and women’s advocacy groups collaborate to examine the legal, social, and economic barriers affecting Female Labor Force Participation (FLFP). To date, PEP’s teams have published six context-specific briefs analyzing barriers to women’s access to decent work, providing concrete policy recommendations aimed at addressing systemic barriers and enhancing FLFP.
