Peer Mentorship through The Learner’s Guides
CAMFED supports the most marginalized girls to thrive in and complete secondary school, joining a network of leaders who deploy their experience to help ensure the education system serves the needs of all children. Learner Guides are mentors with firsthand experience of the barriers to girls’ education, who accompany vulnerable students through school, and help them to navigate challenges. They also lend their expertise to CAMFED’s government partnerships, supporting related reforms, including enshrining girls’ right to education and removing barriers like child marriage and rules against re-entry.
By 2030, CAMFED aims to increase marginalized girls’ secondary school completion rates by ~24% in Zambia and ~15% in Tanzania, resulting in 1.8 million girls completing secondary education. These reforms will be supported by CAMFED’s graduate network of more than 100,000 young leaders, plus government and civil society stakeholders.
